I am finding Kaleidoscope Painting in Painter 12 lots more fun than I had expected. It is simply so fascinating, and with the unending variety of brushes available in Painter, its potential seems enormous.
After playing with Kalendoscope Painting for a while, I noticed that it can be used to create round lace patterns.
First, you turn on the Kalendoscope Painting mode. Then draw the lace pattern with a small size pen in clear black. Quick Clone the image (make sure that the new canvas is white), choose from the menu Effects > Apply Surface Texture using Original Luminance. I lightly dabbed on some color with the new Real Watercolor brush.
Kaleidoscope Painting, Apply Surface Texture (Effect), Real Watercolor. Painter 12, 80%.
